Machakos County has been recognized among the Top 10 performing counties during the final day of the Joint National and County Governments’ Community Health Performance Review Meeting.
The county was further applauded as a centre of excellence in community health innovation, particularly for pioneering initiatives such as the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the electronic Community Health Information System (eCHIS) and the Health Entrepreneurship Training Programme for Community Health Promoters (CHPs)—innovations that are now being replicated in other counties.
This recognition reflects the transformative leadership of H.E. Governor Wavinya Ndeti, EGH, whose administration continues to strengthen community health systems by supporting CHPs through regular stipends, enhanced community support structures, and active participation in county health programmes.
The achievement underscores Machakos County’s commitment to advancing innovative, people-centered healthcare delivery and strengthening primary health systems for improved service delivery at the grassroots level.
